Brain

The brain is one of the most important organs of the body as it operates all the time. Surprisingly, it is the most for granted organ and is not understood by many people.

Now, the world is full of dozens of ideas that give unwanted information to people. And a lot of misinformation is also spread when it comes to the topic of the brain.

The internet has caused a lot of confusion among people as there is tons of information available out of which there is no way to find what is true and what isn’t. A lot of diseases are misunderstood along with their functioning. Also, some tests help find the underlying issues in the brain like CT Angiography. The CT Angiography price in Pakistan is very affordable.

Now, some of the myths are actually fun and can make you laugh, while some can be very misleading as these portray the opposite image of what a brain actually is.

Myth 1: The brain functions start to decline as soon as you hit 20 years of age

Now, it is known to everyone that some skills like the ability to think quickly and recall information are pretty easy when you are around the age of 18. But this doesn’t mean that it is downhill from that.

Now, contrary to that, as we grow old, we do get wiser and with that, we also get smarter. Now, this doesn’t mean that we will be scoring full marks. By being smarter, it means in some ways obviously

Our ability to use strong vocabulary and solve basic math problems improves with time and age. And the power to remember recent events and read the emotions of others does decline until after the age of 30. So, do not think that it is downhill after you turn 20.

Myth 2: Drugs create unwanted holes in the brain

There are different drugs that we take that leave the world around us quite different. The after-effects of the drugs are not very close to pleasant. Now, some medicine does impact the structure and the function of the brain but the cheese holes are not one of them.

It is very well known that medicines work by playing with our brain chemistry. To think that medicine drills holes in our brains are quite funny. Other substances that are used for the purpose of amusement do alter the levels of neurotransmitters.

Myth 3: There is only a fraction of the brain used in the brain

Now, this is a very vague myth. If this was true we would have been able to remove some fractions of the brain. Some of experts and scientists think that the root of this myth might lie in the fact that you are not using 100% of the brain.

Some neurologists say that we use all parts of the brain and most of the brain is active almost all the time

Myth 4: The bigger the brain, the smarter the creature is

By looking at this statement, a lot of people can judge that this is just a myth. If the size is concerned, it can be seen that the brain of the cow is bigger than the brain of a chimpanzee. But, it is very well known that a chimpanzee is far smarter than a cow.

There is one more thing known as brain-to-body weight that plays a very important role. Well, that didn’t have to do a lot with this myth. Because of that way the myth is more on the wrong side. Well, to prove that the brain-to-body mass of the human brain is a lot more than that of a horse’s. And at the same time, it is the same as a mouse.

Myth 5: You are a visual or an auditory learner

In middle school a lot of times, it is told to you that you need to see visuals if you want to learn something. But if you see closely, it is a reinforced idea that some of us learn better by hearing, touching, and seeing.

This is not true at all, as some people prefer to learn. Through listening and hearing means as a lecture, or by reading a book. So, it is not suggested nor proved anywhere that there is a preferred way to go about learning. The best neuro physician in Lahore says that there is a preferred method by every individual in which they are comfortable learning and it differs from person to person

Conclusion

The brain is one of the most initiative parts of the body’s health that makes sure that the activity of the body is doing fine. There is a big number of myths that go around. Not all of these are true and most of them are made up. So, it is important to know the right information that must help you instead of changing your course altogether.
