Is the clock fast or slow? On April 03 April 03, 2022, wintertime will end.

Although wintertime is not over yet, we will have to adjust our clock again with the 2022 summertime change in Mexico in April.

So for you to take it into account here, we tell you when you should adjust the time to be in sync.

When does the time change in Mexico in 2022?

Daylight saving time will begin next Sunday, April 03, and end on Sunday, October 30, October 30. It will last a little over six months before the country switches to wintertime when the clocks will be set back again.

These will be the bridges and holidays of 2022 in Mexico.

Is the clock fast or slow?

With daylight saving time, the clock should be set forward one hour.

Exceptions where there is no time change

It should be remembered that summertime will not apply in the 33 municipalities of the northern border strip, Sonora and Quintana Roo.

These municipalities usually apply the time change a few weeks before the rest of the country because they are synchronized with the time change in the United States.

Due to Sonora’s commercial relations with Arizona, that entity may have had its own schedule rules since 1998.

Meanwhile, Quintana Roo ‘moved’ in 2015 to the group of 75° west, to be one hour ahead of the country’s center and thus benefit tourism with one more hour of light on the beach. This is how the so-called southeast schedule was created, which remains fixed throughout the year.

It is recommended that before going to sleep, the clock is advanced an hour so that the day begins with the new schedule.

Since when and why does daylight saving time exist?

For more than two decades, the government has reminded Mexicans of the time change due to the proximity of summer, a measure whose main objective is to take advantage of natural daylight to reduce the use of electricity in daily activities.

The measure came into force in 1996 through a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), in which summertime was established to save electricity through better use of natural light.

In addition, the establishment of time zones is based on both economic and commercial factors.
