1. Choose the right site and warehouse

1) The site or warehouse where steel is stored should be clean and well drained, away from factories and mines that produce harmful gases and dust. Remove weeds and all debris from the site, keeping the steel clean
2) The warehouse shall not be stacked together with acid, alkali, salt, cement and other items that corrode steel. Different types of steel should be stacked separately to prevent confusion and prevent contact corrosion
3) Large-scale steel, rails, steel plates, large-diameter steel pipes, and forgings can be stacked in the open air
4) Small and medium-sized steel materials, wire rods, steel bars, medium-diameter steel pipes, steel wires, and wire ropes can be stored in a well-ventilated material shed, but they must be padded
5) Some small steel products, thin steel plates, steel strips, silicon steel sheets, small-diameter or thin-walled steel pipes, various cold-rolled and cold-drawn steel products and expensive and corrosive metal products can be stored in the warehouse
6) Warehouses should be selected according to geographical conditions. Generally, an ordinary closed warehouse is adopted, that is, the roof is surrounded by walls, the doors and windows are tightly closed, and the warehouse is equipped with ventilation devices.
7) The warehouse is required to pay attention to ventilation in sunny days and moisture-proof in rainy days, and always maintain a suitable storage environment

2. Reasonable stacking, first in first out

1) The principle of stacking requires stability during stacking, ensuring safe conditions, stacking according to varieties and specifications, and stacking different types of materials to prevent confusion and mutual corrosion
2) It is forbidden to store items that are corrosive to steel near the stacking location
3) The bottom of the stack should be high, firm and flat to prevent the material from being damp or deformed
4) The same materials are stacked separately according to the order of warehousing, which facilitates the implementation of the principle of first in first out
5) For steel stacked in the open air, there must be wooden pads or stone strips underneath, the stacking surface is slightly inclined to facilitate drainage, and attention should be paid to the placement of materials to prevent bending and deformation
6) The stacking height does not exceed 1.2m in manual operation, 1.5m in mechanical operation, and the stacking width does not exceed 2.5m
7) There should be a certain channel between the stack and the stack. The inspection channel is generally O.5M, and the access channel depends on the size of the material and the transport machinery, generally 1.5-2.OM
8) The bottom height of the stack. If the warehouse is on the concrete floor under the morning sun, the height can be 0.1m. If the ground is muddy, raise the O. 2~0.5m. If it is an open field, the cement floor pad height is O.3~O.5m, and the sand and mud surface pad height is 0.5~O. 7m9) Angle steel and channel steel should be stacked in the open air, that is, the mouth should face down, and the I-beam should be placed vertically.
