PCOS and advanced health checkup

As a PCOS patient, I had to check with my gynecologist regularly to keep tracking any changes that might affect my period. And the best gynecologist I ever met was at Novomed Centers.

Let me tell you how it started. During my adolescence, I had irregular periods, my mom thought it was normal as my body is still changing, and it won’t be stable until I reach 18 years old. So I didn’t care very much about the irregular periods, although it was hard to tell when my period will start. I couldn’t count the days very well, and I couldn’t predict the exact date for my period to start. So it was a little bit struggling, but if my mom said it is normal, then I should believe her.

I reached 18 years old, and I thought my irregular periods will end, but that didn’t happen. I still had irregular periods until I am 20. So I decided to check with a gynecologist to diagnose my case and give me the suitable treatment.

So I asked my mom about her gynecologist, and she told me that her gynecologist is not here in Abu Dhabi, and I have to wait for her to come back from Belgium after 3 months. I didn’t want to wait for more, so I started looking for a gynecologist who is specialized in PCOS treatment.

One day, while my mom was watching the TV morning show, she listened to a gynecologist who was talking about PCOS, and she was pointing out that the main reason for irregular periods is PCOS. And then she explained its symptoms, complications, and the available treatments.

My mom was curious to know all this information because she could relate them to my case. At the end of the show episode, they mentioned that the gynecologist is working at Novomed Centers, and if we want to book an appointment with her for my health checkup in Dubai clinic, we can call Novomed.

My mom immediately called the hospital and asked them about the gynecologist and booked me an appointment in 3 days. When I went home after university, my mom told me about the gynecologist and my appointment with her. I was glad to hear that.

On the scheduled date, my mom and I went to the hospital to consult the gynecologist, who was very friendly during the consultation. I told her about my symptoms and irregular periods, but she wanted to diagnose my case better, so, she asked me to do some blood tests, hormones tests, and ultrasound for my abdomen and ovaries.

She was the one who diagnosed my PCOS problem and helped me to have regular periods, and advised me to follow a healthy lifestyle and avoid sugary and carbs, and exercise regularly.
