If you’ve never seen or heard of live edge wood furniture, then you’re in for a treat! By cutting or sanding the logs in certain ways, craftsmen can create works of art that would be nearly impossible to duplicate with manufactured lumber. Through this process, beautiful pieces can be made that can bring warmth and character to any space. To find out more, check out our article on Live Edge Wood Furniture here!

What is live edge wood furniture?

Live edge wood furniture is a one-of-a kind piece of art that requires a lot of work and skill. The nature of the material creates irregular shapes, which makes it difficult to create clean lines in the design. To get around this issue, we use epoxy river tables to level out the top surface for a symmetrical look without sacrificing the natural beauty. This will make your table more durable and resistant to water stains that may appear over time due to spills or humidity levels in your home. With our experience as craftsmen, we are able to bring your idea into reality with precision and care, ensuring you end up with a beautiful piece that lasts for years!

The benefits of live edge wood furniture

Live Edge Wood Furniture is not only a beautiful way to decorate your home, but it’s also sustainable, eco-friendly and unique. The natural shapes of the live edge tables are accentuated with our Epoxy River Tables. These tables are made out of reclaimed materials that have been upcycled into one of a kind live edge tabletops that make for an unforgettable centerpiece in any room. The Epoxy River Table can be custom sized and shaped depending on your needs, so let us know how you want it!

The process of creating live edge wood furniture

Epoxy River Tables is a small, family-owned company based in the foothills of North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains. We love working with natural materials from all over the world that have been expertly shaped by Mother Nature into beautiful works of art. Our tables are uniquely designed and sculpted from salvaged trees that would otherwise be discarded or burned after being cut down for other purposes.

We work with only the highest quality, sustainably harvested hardwoods sourced from around the world for use in our designs; these include reclaimed Ipe, Acacia, Elm, Cherry, Oak and Walnut among others as well as varieties of softwood such as Pine, Cedar and Fir.

The different types of live edge wood furniture

We offer a variety of custom live edge tables made from reclaimed, salvaged or log sections of one-of-a-kind lumber that can be stained or left natural. Live Edge Wood Furniture is an environmentally friendly way to give your home the character and charm it deserves.

Epoxy River Tables are a new take on our traditional Live Edge style, with river rock epoxied on the top of the table with a clear sealant finish.

How to care for your live edge wood furniture

The Epoxy River Tables are designed for durability, longevity, and style. To maintain that look for years to come, please use care when handling the tables as it will help keep them looking as good as new! Avoid placing sharp objects on the surface, like forks or knives, which can scratch it over time. Use coasters under glasses or other drink ware to avoid leaving water marks from condensation on the surface of your table. If you should spill a drink onto the table’s surface, use a clean cloth to wipe up the liquid immediately; don’t let anything sit too long in order to prevent stains from setting into the finish.
