The efficacy of using technology in the classroom has become a contentious topic. While many instructors and students believe that using technology to enhance teaching is beneficial, others believe it creates too many problems and wastes time. Why do some children despise technology so much if it is as helpful in the classroom as many teachers say it is?

Students frequently say that teachers use these tools to brag about themselves and don’t spend enough time learning and teaching about how to use them; instead, they should stick to the old-fashioned chalkboard teaching method.

TEACHERS AND TECHNOLOGY ARE INCOMPATIBLE.

It is a step in the right direction, but students are suffering due to teacher shortages. It can be stated that this measure will benefit students in the future, yet students are currently complaining about such activities.

REGULAR CLASS DISCUSSIONS VS ONLINE DISCUSSIONS

Another complaint from students is that lecturers pay more attention to remarks made by students in an online group discussion. This technique diminishes the significance of in-class conversations. They think that participating in a class discussion is more important than being present online. Perhaps technology is the primary cause of traditional classroom failure.

RESOURCES ARE LIMITED.

As we previously noted, the entire concept of study has altered as technology has infiltrated every aspect of our system. Some children are having difficulties because they have fewer resources than others. For example, it is not required for all siblings in a family to acquire a personal computer or laptop.

When students need to engage in an online class discussion, gather materials for their assignment, create an online project, or use email, they each need their device; if they share a laptop, they will have to stay up late and wait for their turn. Even nevertheless, most of these students have begun to believe that completing assignments online is a good idea.

NOT ALL TYPES OF TECHNOLOGY ARE APPROPRIATE FOR THEM.

Most of the students feel that teachers frequently disrupt the teaching pace by forcing themselves to use technologies that are inconvenient for them. For instance, a teacher frequently utilizes a simple projector, which was convenient for many students. Then she started utilizing PowerPoint and the smart board, and students lost interest since instructor didn’t know how to use those technologies, and the class became confused and untidy as a result. On the other hand, some students claim that their teachers use Zoom for face-to-face communication and that they can share screens to illustrate if they are having difficulties answering a mathematical problem. Finally, we were able to deduce some information on why students dislike using technology in the classroom, culminating in the recommendation that teachers utilize only a few tools that are genuinely compatible with their abilities, rather than complicating things by including so many devices in a class. People must get some training if they need it, and they should avoid using complicated equipment if they don’t know how to operate them, as one student said in an essay.

Furthermore, educators need to examine and enquire about the plethora of novel tools available before incorporating them into their teaching, and Schools must be prepared for technology use in the classroom in order for technology to be effective in improving at-risk students’ grades and attendance (Muir-Herzig, 2004). It is a well-known fact that technology is not suited to all situations or the solution to all problems. As a result, instructors should use caution when implementing it. Adopting new technology is beneficial, but it is much better when we do it after gaining sufficient knowledge of them.

When we utilize a technique incorrectly, there is always the risk of failure. This is what we should do if it is required that we use the board and chalks to help kids understand better. By following these suggestions, we can ensure that an increasing number of kids will join the ranks of those who enjoy using technology in their classes.
