How to connect your phone to your Windows computer.

To begin from your computer:

To open the Settings app, press the Win and I keys at the same time.
Click on Bluetooth & devices in the left side of the Settings window.
Click the button that says “Open Your Phone” under “Your Phone.”
Sign in to your www.aka.ms/yourpc account, or make one if you don’t have one.
Click the button that says “Start.”
Check the box next to the choice I’m ready to use the Your Phone Companion – Link to Windows app.
Then click the “Pair with QR code” button. Now, you need to wait while Windows makes a QR code for you.
You will get a QR code on the next page. To read a QR code, point your phone at it.
After you scan the code, you should see a message that says the devices are now connected.
Tap Continue on your phone. You’ll have to give the app permission to use your contacts, make and handle phone calls, send and read SMS messages, and access your photos.
Click on the “Done” button. Now let’s go back to your Windows. Here, you will see the message “You’re all set!”

To start from your phone:

Open the browser on your mobile device, type www.aka.ms/yourpc into it, and then download the Link to Windows app.
Now, your computer will ask you to open Link to Windows instead, which already came with it.
Use the same Microsoft account you use on your PC to sign in to the companion app.
After you sign in, you’ll be asked to scan a QR code that’s on your computer.
Use the camera on your mobile device to read the QR code that’s on your PC. This will connect your devices.
You’ll be asked for a number of device permissions before you can use your phone or PC to view content.
