Methods to Rectify QuickBooks error code 15270

Method 1. Download complete payroll update in QuickBooks

  1. Close and reopen QuickBooks. When the QuickBooks Update Service window appears, click the Install Later button.
  2. Next, select the Help menu and choose Update QuickBooks.
  3. Go to the Update QuickBooks window and select the Update Now tab.
  4. Mark the Reset Updates checkbox, then click the Get Updates button, and then OK.
  5. Once the Update completes, the Get Updates button will become active, and you will see Update Complete written below.
  6. Restart QuickBooks Desktop and click Install Now button on the QuickBooks Update Service prompt message.
  7. When the update installs successfully, move to the Employees menu and click Get Payroll Updates.
  8. Don’t forget to select the Download entire payroll update checkbox, then click Update.
  9. Now install the payroll updates again.

Method 2. Check if QuickBooks payroll subscription is active

To verify Basic, Standard, or Enhanced Payroll:

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Employees menu and select My Payroll Service.
  2. Choose Account/Billing Information or Account Info/Preferences.
  3. Log in to your Intuit Account to go to the QuickBooks Payroll Account Maintenance page.
  4. On the page, see if your subscription is Active.

To verify Assisted Payroll:

  1. Select the QuickBooks Employees menu and choose My Payroll Service.
  2. Move to Account/Billing Information or Account Info/Preferences.
  3. When the QuickBooks Payroll Account Maintenance page opens, close the window to prompt an update and re-validation of the payroll service.
