The measure passed with the support of the Republican-controlled state legislature in early May, but was vetoed by Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper over the weekend.
Republicans overrode the veto in back-to-back votes, prompting chants of “shame” from viewers.
The law, which reduces the window for abortion in the nation to 20 weeks, will now go into effect on July 1.
On Tuesday, the kingdom’s Senate voted 30-20 and the House 72-48 to override the veto. A single Republican defector may want to have slanted the outcome differently.
Officially recognized as the Law for Attention to Women, Children and the Family, it was approved by the country’s Senate along with the tensions of the birthday celebration on May 4, one day after being passed by the House of Representatives of the kingdom.
The measure was vetoed by Governor Cooper at a rally on Saturday. He claimed the shipment would stand “in the way of progress” and “would turn the clock back 50 years on women’s health.”
The rules prohibit abortion at 12 weeks, except in cases of rape, incest and clinical emergencies. It mandates that any abortions performed in the region after that duration be performed in a hospital.
The exceptions in the case of rape and incest are up to 20 weeks of pregnancy, or in the case of a “life-limiting condition”, up to 24 weeks.

The law also restricts the use of abortion pills after 10 weeks of pregnancy and sets additional requirements close by, such as an in-person session with a doctor before the procedure.
The regulation consists of $160m (£128m) in funding for contraception, parenting and childcare and paid parental leave.
Republicans hold slim supermajorities in each chamber of the state house, giving them the ability to override a veto by the Democratic governor.
The celebration received its veto-proof supermajority last month after a Democrat who had previously vowed to protect abortion won the ticket to change her birthday party affiliation to the Republican.
Congresswoman Tricia Cotham voted for the ban after pledging a remaining 12 months to “continue my strong record of defending the right to choose.”
Republicans hold exactly three-fifths of the seats in both the Senate and the House, meaning only a defector from the birthday celebration could have botched Tuesday’s vote, allowing the governor’s veto to stand.

The tiny supermajority led Cooper to launch a last-minute stress marketing campaign at the end of the week to try to persuade any Republican to change the lines of the birthday party.
After the nation’s Senate voted to override the veto on Tuesday, four Republican lawmakers released a joint statement declaring the new law “brings into existence a way of life that values motherhood and saves the lives of the unborn.” born”.
One of the four, Vickie Sawyer, accused the Democrats of “exaggerated and extremist objections.”
But Democratic country consultant Deb Butler said the regulation would make North Carolina a “less hospitable place to live.”
“This backward regulation will have an effect on every girl in the kingdom throughout her reproductive life,” she said.
Democratic Nation Senator Natasha Marcus said: “This shipment is a slap in the face. It’s a muzzle over our mouths and it’s a straitjacket on our bodies.”
Near-total abortion bans have been overcome with the help of 14 US states since the Supreme Court ended the nation’s right to abortion last year.
North Carolina saw abortions jump 37% following the Supreme Court ruling, according to the Planned Parenthood Society, a nonprofit organization that advocates for abortion rights and research.
The growth was generally driven by women traveling to North Carolina from other parts of the southern US, where abortions are now generally restricted.
