Exposed handles, hidden handles, pressure opening (push)

There are many options when it comes to opening systems for kitchen furniture. The aesthetic revolution that the kitchen has experienced in recent years has been parallel to the functional one, issues that have directly influenced its appearance. The trend towards simplicity in the design lines of the fronts has determined the almost disappearance of visible kitchen cupboard handles in modern kitchens. This leads us to diaphanous kitchens, ready, without visual obstacles. But,

Are they practical and functional compared to kitchens with the classic handle?

The general opinion is that the absence of the classic handle provides a sense of order, balance and cleanliness since, if they are applied to drawers and cabinets distributed along the kitchen shelf at different heights and positions, they can generate a sense of disorder and chaos.

And, the truth is that if a kitchen is long and narrow, the absence of kitchen cupboard handles is recommended since, in addition to providing greater visual cleanliness, they are more comfortable for openings as well as for cleaning.

The gola system is Handleless kitchens practical?

There are several possibilities for kitchen fronts without a visible handle. Currently, the most applied is the so-called GOLA SYSTEM. The “traditional” GOLA is in the shape of a “C” or “L” that is made of extracted matt aluminum or painted white or black or also lacquer able. There is also the possibility of FLAT GOLA which is made with a metal profile positioned on the front of the door or it is created with a special profile to facilitate opening.

The simplicity of the operation of the GOLA is one of its main values. By means of a profile conceived so that the doors lean against it, it provides a little free space to put the fingers and pull the front. In many cases, the opening system is machined on the door itself, which means that its cost is lower.

The profile of the U-shaped Gola handle was very common in the 70s and the renewed design that is currently being presented, with finishes, some more rectilinear and others more beveled, some in steel or aluminum and others in the same material as the door in Specifically, it has become the most applied opening system in recent times.

Opening by pressure (push)

A system that has become very traditional and comfortable. We completely forgot about the kitchen cupboard handles and chose a mechanism that can be placed in any kitchen module, preventing any handle from protruding. It is a mechanical piece of equipment that can be placed on all types of kitchen doors, consisting of a button with a magnetized end that is installed in the structure of the cabinet. The opening is done by pressing lightly on the door or drawer, which remain open at a small angle that allows you to insert your hand to finish opening them. To close it, it is enough to exert a slight pressure so that the front is fixed to the furniture again.

There are push solutions   with or without brake, the former are more expensive than the latter, but also more comfortable. They work perfectly in drawers. The appearance is very similar to that of a front with integrated handle design or gola. What is its main disadvantage? That much more is touched in front of the furniture and, therefore, it gets dirty easily. In these cases, it is advisable to choose anti-fingerprint materials such as the latest generation PET.
