  3. Change the extension to .QBW, then open QuickBooks and the company file.

Solution 3. Give permission to QuickBooks through AVG

1. On your workstation, open AVG and move to the Firewall section.
2. Under the Settings menu, choose Applications, then AVG Firewall and locate QuickBooks in the list.
3. If the application is blocked, change its status from Block to Allow.
4. If you don’t find QuickBooks in the list, click the Add button and search of the QuickBooks program file.
5. Click Create, then OK to save the changes and open QuickBooks.
