Paul Walker’s brother sobs as he shares how family will mark anniversary of his death

Cody Walker, the younger brother of the late Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker, has laid bare his heartbreak over the loss of his sibling as he marks milestone birthday

Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker broke down in tears while opening up about his grief over the death of his sibling.

The late Fast and Furious actor would have turned 50 on September 12.

He died back in 2013, aged 40, after the car he was in smashed into a lamppost and blew up in flames.

Speaking to MailOnline, FuelFest founder Cody shared how the family will mark the tenth anniversary of Paul’s passing.

He said: “Coming on ten years now, usually like members of the family will, like take pictures of the sunrise or the sunset on his birthday.

“His 50th will be Tuesday. Miss him everyday. Hard to believe actually. Ten years. Wow.”

“He meant a lot of a lot of things to a lot of people. And we miss him a lot.”

Cody struggled to fight back tears during the interview and Paul’s Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson jumped in to comfort him.

He was just 25 when Paul sadly passed away almost a decade ago.

Originally, the actor was believed he’d died instantly at first but the star’s post-mortem uncovered the harrowing circumstances of his death.

Paul and his friend Roger Rodas had decided to take the actor’s cherry red Porsche Carrera GT for a fateful spin after hosting a charity fundraiser for Typhoon Yolanda in Santa Clarita in Los Angeles.

The pair had been spotted driving at an “unsafe” speed of between 70 and 100mph before the car suddenly careered out of control and hit a lamppost, bursting into flames.

Horrified onlookers rushed to tackle the molten fireball with extinguishers, but it was too late.

Having clearly suffered, Paul was found lay supine in a ‘pugilistic stance’ whereby the muscles of the body contract due to heat and pull the limbs into a ‘boxer-like’ appearance.

The horrific burns injuries left his skin so badly charred that he could only be identified through dental records, and his incinerated organs were unfit for tissue donation.

The father-of-one suffered multiple fractures throughout his body, including his jaw, collarbone, left upper arm, ribs and pelvis, according to the report.

Even more terrifying, bits of soot were found in the star’s windpipe, meaning he’d been alive and still breathing as the fire raged.

As for Roger, the top portion of his skull was found to have fractured and his brain was exposed.

No evidence of drink or drugs was found and the coroner recorded the cause of death as “combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries.”
