Rest assured that with proper feeding techniques the baby will get the milk exactly the same as latching onto a regular nipple.
Some mothers will use a breast pump to help draw out the nipple prior to breastfeeding. Nipple stimulation like sucking by the partner during sex may also help to pull the nipple into the regular position.
