Color Blind Glasses Symptoms and Treatment

Contrary to popular belief, there are actually quite a small number of colorblind people who cannot normally see colors in any form. Very rarely, colorblind people are able to see only gray, black, and white. Most people with color blind glasses can only see certain hues or perceive certain hues as the wrong color. The most common example is a person who mistakes blue for green or vice versa. Others only see certain shades of blue, but can see all shades of red perfectly. This varies from person to person.

Many people with color blind glasses have inherited this condition,

Which is present from birth , although sometimes it is not recognized until after a period of time. If this is indeed the case, the problem will never be corrected. Still, many people can learn to live effectively with this visual impairment. Children may find it more difficult to learn in school, and adults may be limited in their professional activities.

In some cases,

it is often the result of another eye condition, such as glaucoma or cataracts. In such a situation, if the underlying problem is corrected, normal color vision is usually restored at the same time.

This happens when there is a problem with the three types of cone cells in the macula that filter out the hues of red, green and blue. If a cone cell is missing, a person cannot see that hue. If an element in the cone cell is defective, a person can only see certain shades of that color or may interpret that shade as another, such as confusing blue and green.

The condition does not worsen with time.

This condition requires a change in lifestyle because it cannot be corrected. Many people with color blind glasses must learn to adapt to other methods, such as remembering the order of colors in traffic lights.

Although adapting to this eye condition can be uncomfortable, it does not have to be a debilitating eye condition. Most people are able to easily adapt to differences in color perception. Over time, people with color blind glasses can enjoy the same quality of life as people with normal vision if they learn and accept the adjustment as part of their lifestyle.
