Concerning Agadir
Agadir is a prominent Moroccan tourist resort located on the Atlantic Ocean’s long coast. People come here to relax on well-kept coastal beaches, to enjoy leisurely strolls through streets lined with straight rows of palm trees, and to experience the hustle and bustle of oriental bazaars.
Agadir, despite its unique appeal and Berber name, is a European seaside resort. You may dress like you normally would in Europe. There are many good hotels and restaurants, and there are several active entertainment options. Agadir is an excellent location for Morocco’s private desert trips since you may ride camels and stay in Berber tents.
How to Get to Agadir
The resort is around 30 kilometers from Al Massira Airport. Planes carrying passengers from Paris, Berlin, and Copenhagen land on the airport’s runways. Charters from Moscow arrive during the peak season. You might fly to Casablanca or Marrakech, then take a local flight with Royal Air Maroc for the remainder of your journey.
Unfortunately, no direct bus service exists between the city and the airport. Those who want to use public transportation must do so in Inezgan. This route operates from six a.m. until late at night. The terminal is one kilometer from the major road bus stop.
If you don’t want to bother with transportation, you may reserve a shuttle to Agadir at the same time as your hotel reservation. When you arrive, you may also employ the services of local taxi drivers. It will take around thirty minutes to get into town.
You may take a local bus from Marrakech, Casablanca, Rabat, or Essaouira.
Global warming and climate change
Agadir is known for its moderate climate, which has nice winters and dry summers. Rain is an uncommon visitor here, and it seldom wreaks havoc on the city and its environs. The heat also prevents the cold river that runs across the broad ocean beach from flowing freely.
The sun shines on the streets and beaches of the city 300 days a year. Even on the harshest winter nights, the thermometer always registers at least 10 degrees. The temperature will increase to a delightful +2022 degrees in the winter, +25 to +30 degrees in the spring and fall, and +35 degrees in the summer.
May through October are good months for a beach holiday. The air is lovely, yet there is no particular warmth in this place. The next few months are ideal for planning a trip itinerary that will provide an in-depth study of Morocco’s history and beauty.
The ocean temperature in the coastal zone rises to +19 to +20 degrees. The water will be at its warmest in August, September, and October, before cooling in November.
The beaches of Agadir
The main beach in Agadir is a ten-kilometer crescent moon covered in golden sand and washed by gentle Atlantic waves. Spend a few hours wandering from the city harbor with the yachts to the river that feeds into the ocean when you come for your vacation. Many people may approach you on the beach here and invite you to join them on a three-day vacation from Marrakech to Fes, which is a pleasant activity.
The wind is still blowing and generating waves at this location. The tides change the length of the beach by 150 to 200 meters. The entrance is pretty shallow, but during low tide you’ll have to travel behind the depths.
The beach is free, but you must first borrow wicker umbrellas in the morning. Money will be required to hire deckchairs and buy refreshments at nearby cafés. Small spaces with lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to hotel guests. The rest of the beach is available to both visitors and locals. In reality, citizens like going to the beach in the evenings with their families to relax by the water. Beach activities include river transportation in different forms, paragliding, and surfing. Along the shore is a promenade lined with restaurants and cafés. Police patrols offer protection, while security guards keep an eye on hotel guests’ valuables.
Taghazut beach lies a few kilometers outside of town, near the same-named village. The area has no infrastructure and no habitation. There is nothing except the beach, gorgeous rocks, crystal clear waves, and surfers. Berbers on camels are sometimes seen here.
Legzira Beach is one of Morocco’s most stunning beaches.
The journey from Agadir will take 120 kilometers, but it will be worthwhile. There are no hotels or infrastructure in place, and there are no visitors. Many visitors take a three-day journey from Marrakech to Merzouga or Agadir, for example. Swimming is difficult because of the tremendous waves, but it is a photographer and space enthusiast’s dream. Legziru is stunning because of the clay arches that embellish the shoreline. The best time to visit is around sunset, when the fading light transforms the beach into something like a Martian landscape.
Agadir Accommodation
Agadir offers a wide range of hotels to choose from, including subsidiaries of well-known hotel groups. However, bear in mind that all of the apartments are separated from the beach by a huge promenade, and there are no alternatives near the ocean.
