The corona virus pandemic has had a strong economic impact around the world and sport has not escaped. Multiple sports competitions have been canceled postponed or are taking place without an audience. Perhaps it was the pandemic that prompted the development of remote transmissions; but now that they are gaining strength, they are emerging as increasingly viable alternatives for TV networks and for the future of sports television.
